Almost 2!

Some random Reese moments to remember:

I told Reese she could put her drawing on the fridge...she must have thought I said "in the fridge". My crisper drawer is now full of art work. I tried to explain they go on the outside, but she wants them inside. Oh well, now every time I go for an apple, I can admire Reese's artistic ability!

This morning Reese was in a bad mood. She wanted everything she couldn't have...and after telling her no more times than she wanted to hear, she started hitting me in frustration. I put her in time-out and after a minute or two, we sat down for a little chat about 'not hitting mommy'. Half way through my talk about 'using your words' and 'hitting is not nice', Reese looked at me with a frustrated face and started to raise her hand to me. I stopped mid sentence and said, "Reese Celeste, if you hit me you are going to be in big trouble." Her hand immediately stopped, she sat frozen for a couple seconds; hand in the air. I could see her little mind working and thinking things through. Then she tilted her head to the side with the sweetest little smile. She took her hand and instead of hitting me she stroked my cheek softly and patted my head while saying, "sorry mama. love you!" She is a clever and smart little cookie. I had to try really hard not to laugh.

Reese is convinced we are having another girl. When we tell her there is a baby brother or sister in mommy's tummy, she immediately corrects us and say's, "sister!" The other day I asked her if maybe it would be ok if she had a brother instead of a sister? She gave me a disapointed face with a questioning voice and said, "sister?". Who knows, maybe she's privy to information we don't have, but I'm hoping if by chance we have a boy...she'll find a way to be ok with it.

Potty training and binky breaking...

This kid is begging to be potty trained...and as soon as summer is over, we'll get to it. In the mean time, she is going all by herself at least 3-4 times a day! Go Reese!

oh yea...that binky is on it's way out as well! That's definitely going to be a harder task!

Reese's Big Girl Room Revealed!

We've been working on Reese's "big girl" room for some time now and we're excited to announce that it is complete! Well, there are a couple more things I want to do...but for the most part, It is complete!

The other morning as I was taking picture of the room, Reese really wanted to be in the shots. She kept saying, "Me pictures mama, me pictures". I guess she should get to show off her new room.

I'm not going to lie...this kind of makes me wish I was 2 again!

If you're trying to figure out what the heck Reese is doing in this picture...she's pretending, or trying to cut her own toenails. She's so funny!

Idaho 2010

August is my favorite time of year to go to Idaho! Utah is usually at it's hottest temps and Idaho always provides a cool relaxing escape. Not to mention...August is Raspberry season, and my parents garden is always overflowing with plenty to share!

For some reason I love pictures of Reese running...probably because she is in motion about 99% of the time!

Learning to golf with grandpa!

And of course...the raspberries! Reese ate these until she was sick...well she never got sick...but I was surprised she didn't.

Another reason we headed to Idaho was for the Woolf (my mom's family) reunion. We had such a great time, doing all things that encompass the true essence of the Woolf family. That had to include quilting...Something my grandma taught all her daughters, grand daughters....and now her great grand daughters are learning as well.

My mom's baby sister, Aunt Valerie, passed away less than a year ago. She was greatly missed

Arnold was such a great sport, hanging out while we set up.

Grandpa Nordfelt, making homemade root beer!

Making Grandma's donuts!
My grandma made donuts for us every summer, and every time she visited. No family gathering would be complete without them.

Reese became instant friends with her second cousin Mya!

Reese caught a fish!

Reese loved playing with Grandpa...or should I say torturing Grandpa...he loved it though.

Reese trying to fill Grandpa's shoes...those are some big shoes to fill.

Over the last 3 years our family has lost my Grandpa (Joe Woolf), my Grandma (Kathleen Woolf), and my Aunt Valerie. To honor and remember them, we released balloons with notes to them.

Reese had a hard time understanding why we would let go of so many perfectly good balloons.

I couldn't help posting this picture. I was cleaning up and doing dishes in the kitchen after the reunion and I could hear Reese singing and playing grandma's little guitar in the living room. When I went to check on her, this is how I found her.

We had a great time in Idaho and wish we could visit more often! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Nordfelt!
